Partnering to promote career aspiration

In August, our Lighthouse photographer headed to GOTAFE, Shepparton Campus to capture a few snaps of the year 5 students from Mooroopna Park Primary School who were participating in the Learning Through Lunch program.
Learning Through Lunch is an initiative by Ardoch, supported by the Victorian Government, which has expanded the program to promote career aspirations in regional areas. The Shepparton program involves partnerships with GOTAFE, who curate campus tours and hands-on activities, and The Common Grounds Café, who provide meals and the dining space.
Lighthouse engages volunteers from various local industries to share their career experiences and encourage students to start thinking about career pathways.
Primary schools in and around the Greater Shepparton area have been participating in this popular program throughout term 4. Judging by the enthusiastic responses of the students as they explore various educational departments and facilities, there is a growing generation of local students who are excited about future career and education pathways in our region.

Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project acknowledges and pays respect to the traditional custodians of the Shepparton region on whose lands we are located, the Yorta Yorta peoples and their Elders past, present and emerging. Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project recognises, respects and supports all community members regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, ability, or age.
