Project Officer - Pit Stop - Casual

The Project Officer will deliver hands on learning opportunities at the Pit Stop venue based at DECA in partnership with Wodonga Tafe. The role will work hands on with at risk young people predominantly working on small engines and cars and will impart life skills knowledge via a hands-on approach and better prepare young people for the world of work. Where appropriate they may assist in creating opportunities and transitioning young people to work placement, work or further study. 

The Project Officer will assist to create learning package design, delivery of hands-on learning to a variety of young people, liaise with mentors and volunteers as well as school leaders and school / service support staff that utilize the Pit Stop program.   

The Project Officer will support student learning, increase student knowledge and understanding of work opportunities in the region and support their overall capacity to transition successfully to further study and work via the obtainment of work and life skills. All work will be informed by data, and local insights including the 1000 conversations with emphasis on the co design of appropriate local solutions to meet specific needs experienced by unique cohorts within schools. Solutions are linked to the local operating environment, growth sectors and focus on exposure to local pathways to work and further study.
