Lighthouse is delighted to once again be participating in the Shepparton Art Festival with an exhibition titled Connected by Creativity. This collaborative exhibition brings together the vibrant creative voices of children, young people, and caregivers, offering a powerful exploration of the unique perspectives and shared experiences that shape their connection to the community. Each artwork highlights the creativity, imagination, and stories that are often untold while emphasising the importance of togetherness, belonging, kindness and intergenerational collaboration. It is an opportunity to celebrate the diversity and strength of the community while fostering deeper understanding and connection across all ages.
Supported by local artists, students from Wilmot Rd Primary school, Mooroopna Primary school, Gowrie St Primary school, Mooroopna Park Primary school and Greater Shepparton Secondary College have all contributed collaborative works within this exhibition, highlighting the unique perspectives and creativity of children and young people in our community. Parents and caregivers from the Family Haven, Wilmot Road Primary Community Hub, Mooroopna Park Primary Community Hub and St Georges Road Primary & SELC Community Hubs have also participated in artist-facilitated sessions showcasing the unique identity of each setting within the exploration of the key themes.
This exhibition marks the 4th year Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project has engaged local artists to support children, young people and caregivers from education and community settings to contribute to the Shepparton Festival.
Thanks to Kris and Deano at Milestone Café for their generosity and support in hosting our exhibition this year.
