June is Pride Month, so we thought it was the perfect time to celebrate the wonderful work of the Diversity Project Greater Shepparton delivered by Uniting Vic.Tas.
Servicing Greater Shepparton and surrounding areas, the Diversity Project aims to create a safer, more inclusive, and healthier community for young people under 25 years old who are LGBTIQA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender diverse, intersex, queer, questioning, asexual, +).
Earlier in the year, Lighthouse was lucky enough to have a visit from the Diversity Project's Georgie Poort, who delivered an educational session for all Lighthouse staff.
Georgie's sessions aim to educate, build awareness, and bridge barriers, and staff greatly appreciated Georgie's professional and expert delivery, which was both fun and informative. We highly recommend schools, health, and local government youth services looking to run LGBTIQA+ professional development sessions to connect with Georgie to tap into Georgie's invaluable expertise. Additionally, individuals, parents, and community members seeking insights and guidance are welcome to reach out to Georgie.
We thank Georgie for her time and acknowledge her dedication and contributions to supporting LGBTIQA+ youth in our region.
