Lisa McKenzie Principal for a day at McGuire College Shepparton

Lisa McKenzie, the Executive Officer of Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project, will step in  as Principal for the Day at McGuire College on Tuesday (September  3rd), 2019.

Principal For A Day offers a first-hand experience of a ‘day in the life’ of a Victorian government school principal.

McGuire College Principal John Sciacca said the event provides mutual benefits for schools and business/community leaders.

“We are excited to welcome Lisa to our school and we look forward to exchanging ideas, visiting classes, talking to students, meeting parents and taking part in ‘normal’ daily activities,’’ John said.

“Principal For A Day provides us with an excellent opportunity to enable the Executive Officer of Lighthouse to gain unique insights into the learning environment at our school.”
Lisa said she expects the opportunity will offer a new perspective on the valuable work of schools.

“Education is top of the agenda in Shepparton at present and our organisation is committed to improved wellbeing and educational outcomes for young people in the region, so I am excited to be having a deep dive into a local school for the day.’’

Principal For A Day aims to:
increase understanding and awareness between schools, business and the wider community
promote the work of educators provide business and community leaders with first-hand and current experiences of schools enable school principals to develop ongoing relationships with leaders from other spheres increase opportunities for schools and the community to work together in mutually beneficial ways.
